UPJET offers you to plunge into the depth of more than 30 centuries during the excursion "On canoes along the worlds of Lycia (Demre-Myra-Kekova)"

You will see the wonderful ancient cities. Kekova is the contemporary of the ancient Lycia that plunged several meters into the ground as the result of an earthquake. Swimming along the ruins of Kekova on canoes you will see the ancient baths and roads, columns and dwelling houses... Demre – the motherland of St Nicholas, that was the prototype of Santa Claus. You will see the church and the house where this great man lived all his life. And of course, you will ascend to the mysterious burial place of Lycian kingdom.

This is interesting:

Due to the wonderful beauty of the coastline in Kekova, this very place is the key point of all yacht routes of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey.

For the first time Kekova was set on map by Piri Reis – the famous Turkish cartographer, who had predicted the existence of the Antarctic 300 years before it was officially discovered.

The Lycians, whose tombs in rocks were preserved till nowadays, were mentioned in Homer's Iliada. Myra is the motherland of the incense myrrh, known to everyone by Bible. Not far from Kekova there is a Genoese fortress of Medieval period.

Olympos

Excursion's program:
• Ancient city Olympos
• Burning mountain Chimera
• Rest on Olympos beach

History   Held only by individual request  Dinner included  Sea walk  Swimming

The ancient city Olympos looks quite inhabited, in spite of the fact that people do not live there for a long time already. Maybe it is because of the marble that lets the sun rays pass through it in the depth of several centimeters so that the marble seems to be alive.

Olympos, where the ruins of the Greek amphitheater and other buildings are surrounded with fortress walls of a later period, is located not far from the Chimera mountain. According to one version, the Olympic games were began here, but not in the continental Greece! There is flame, blazing from the stones on the top of the mountain, a part of which was carried, by Greeks, who brought it, competing in speed, from the top of the mountain to the sea. According to the legend, Perseus has locked the beaten Chimera under the rock, but she still casts out flame right from the stones, and you can admire that. You will see the ruins of a Byzantine period basilica on the mountain. The beach of Olympos is one of the cleanest and the most picturesque on the seaside.
