Antalya today is the most famous place in Turkey. At the same time, Antalya is... almost undiscovered. How can we explain this contradiction? It's simple! We know the great seaside of Antalya, but absolutely don't know anything about its unique ancient history. The ancient Greek cities of Antalya, Roman basilicas and bridges over the mountain cliffs, Genoese fortresses, sunken Lycian cities, monuments of early Greece... There is probably no other region in Turkey with so many attractions, as there are in Antalya. It is not surprising, because Antalya has become the cradle of Greek civilization, having the most beautiful coastline in the Mediterranean region. Three fourths of the cities, known to us by the "Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece" are not in Greece, but in Antalya. Ancient Greek cities of Phaselis and Olympos, the old church on Olympos mountain (with natural flame, erupting from under the stones), Hadrian's Gates, mosques and mansions of the Seljuk period... And, of course, the gem of Antalya - Lycian cities: high in the mountains and... under the water, but perfectly visible from the surface of the bay. Besides, do not forget about the nature of Antalya - it is a true paradise. It is warm year-round, oranges and pomegranates grow in abundance, the sea is always clear and warm - great opportunities for diving. You can enjoy the nature of Antalya in one of the dozens of its national parks. This is, in fact, primeval nature in all its glory. Climb the mountain, where the ancient Greeks made sacrifices to the gods, touch thousand-year pines, drink pure water from an ancient mountain stream... Then go down to the sea, passing through the ruins of the ancient city... All this can be done in Antalya!
